For a dressy clutch without an absurd price, the Prada Raso Silver Clutch is a definite contender. While browsing Saks last week I saw this clutch in person and both Vlad and I absolutely loved it. The pint sized Eva Longoria Parker packs quite a bubbly punch. When I see her, she usually makes me smile. Then again, if I stood next to her I would probably cry. If you have seen pictures of her next to a ‘normal’ sized person, she looks like she comes from a completely different planet. She is tiny tiny, and full of energy, and always smiles. If you have the money and Gucci is your style, then why not? The log carrier is 33.5 x 21.5 inches so it can fit most of your log needs (haha… still laughing). To fully judge the bags from Prada Fall 2011, I strongly urge you to look at the collection as a whole. If you like Prada’s quirky retro-futurisim, you will love the 60s mod quasi-innocence of what Miuccia put together, and in the context of fall’s Prada girl, the bags make perfect sense. The highly textured collection lends itself to simple, single-material bags; after all, if your ensemble already has fur, paillettes and a pair of glitter and python boots, you probably don’t need a handbag that competes for attention. That being said, I wonder how the bags will sell when removed from the spectacular clothing that provided them with a backdrop for them during the runway show. They’re simple and luxurious, but they lose some of the magic of the mod look when considered on their own. Still, Prada’s overall output for fall is easily my favorite of the season thus far, so I wouldn’t worry too much for the company’s coffers. Purses Replica The sales are still going on and I keep hoping to find something I have to have. Typically, I find something that is priced so well that I figure I have to have it, but it sits in my closet until it is given to Goodwill. I am a really awful bargain shopper, the worst kind, but I find it totally justifiable to shop when an item is marked on ‘sale’. Now I truly believe if I went for this Prada bag, I would actually use it. The Prada Canvas and Leather Tote combines a canvas body with saffiano leather trim and golden hardware. I love the simplicity of this bag with the elegant touch. It is like a plain vanilla cake with a delightful chocolate butter cream frosting. Ok, I lied, it may not be that good, but it is still a great tote nonetheless. The only aspect that could hold me back is the double handle drop, which info is not given on Saks. If this tote did not have enough wiggle room, the large dimensions (15″W X 12¼”H X 5¾”D) would end up being far too heavy just to carry by hand, completely defeating its original purpose in my handbag mind. There is an optional shoulder strap, but I find this bag to appear far more elegant over the shoulder on in your hands than across your body

Fringe, fringe, fringe galore! I don’t usually have a problem with fringe, but I can’t decide if this bag has too much of it. Gucci is a brand I love. I have a pair of Gucci sunglasses I wear all the time and I am definitely on the hunt for a Gucci handbag I can tote around all the time as well. But, I don’t think this bag is it. The Gucci Large Babouska Hobo looks unique and perfect for the fall season. I think the stud accents and brass hardware compliment the fringe extremely well. In fact, as I sit here typing, the bag is starting to grow on me more and more. There is a double strap option (one detachable shoulder strap) which provides a nice option. If you’ve read any of my other posts, you know I am a self-proclaimed clutz. Nothing crazy, but I have been know to trip, drop my bag, and have the entire contents spilled out on the sidewalk. So, obviously, I love not only the snap and push-lcok closuer but also the inside zip and cell phone pocket. I am also drawn to how soft the leather looks. Who doesn’t love soft leather? But, I am still stuck on the fringe. What do you think – yay or nay? Granted you may want to, but does your significant other, bank account, etc? For most of us, no. Though, I guarantee you will not feel that Hermes aura carrying this bag like you would carrying a Birkin. And even worse is the fact that you would be dishing out $800 on a cotton beach bag merely for the name. Again, if you are swimming in money a-la-Ducktales or you just really are some sort of over-the-top Hermes fanatic, then this bag is for you. If you rather put a nice chunk of money towards a designer leather bag that is much more practical, than join my club. So no worries mom, dad and all other super practical people in my life; I will not be buying this bag anytime soon.

As they say, the devil is in the details. Well, in the world of high-end handbags, sometimes that’s where you can find the design as well. And it’s the details that bring me back to the Gucci Crest Boule Fabric Tote over and over again. We’ve all seen plenty of ho-hum (and some slightly more than ho-hum) canvas totes from this brand over the years; besides their signature horsebit details, it’s probably one of the things for which they’re best known. But none has been so precise and sleek as this beauty right here. It’s possible that the exclusion of the Gucci signature from this tote is what makes it look so clean and sophisticated, but I think it’s more than that. The thick leather trim and handles give the bag a heft and structure that few canvas totes have, and it makes it look a lot more purposeful and expensive-looking than other bags of this variety. The one thing I can’t get behind, though, is the price – even one of the nicest canvases totes I’ve ever seen still isn’t worth almost two grand.
