Talking about exclusivity, there are only 10 (read: ten) of these made worldwide, and we got to appreciate it in its gorgeous entirety. Unfortunately, when it comes to midseason collections, most designers don’t see fit to throw accessory-lovers a photographic bone. Because the shows aren’t held together with any type of unifying event, brands release their own media images instead of allowing outside photographers, and outside photographers almost always do a better job of showing us the bags and shoes. We end up getting the short shrift when all media outlets are given the same photo set. Because Louis Vuitton is a company founded on leather goods, though, it does a better job than most at making sure that its bags are front and center. We have all of the bags from Louis Vuitton’s Pre-Fall 2011 collection, plus two ornate feather fans that probably aren’t bags but I will continue hope might be until expressly told otherwise. And this is precisely what has happened with the Burberry Belted Leather Tote. The pebbled calfskin looks soft in pictures, which typically means that it is indeed sumptuous. What I love about this bag is the casual look, the belted accent which gives such a nonchalant finish. No need for crazy amounts of hardware, like in the Burberry Warrior, just simple with a nice touch. This look has me feeling fall already, it will be perfect with hues of green, purple, and brown. The golden hardware is a much better option than silver, giving a refined feeling, which I always feel in fall. Don’t you see that? The long coats and boots dress people up in the fall, making an effortlessly chic ensemble. That is the kind of person you love and hate at times (just jealousy). If I would have been asked the perfect Hermes Birkin for Eva Longoria I would have named something bright, fun, and charismatic, in other words, a bag that perfectly fits her personality. Looks like Eva is able to figure out what suits her fancy without me though, as she has been seen carrying the perfect Eva Longoria Birkin; a Hermes 30 cm Fuchsia Croc Birkin with Palladium Hardware. This Birkin radiates beauty and I am sure if we got to see it in person it would put a smile on our faces. It is too bad the photogs were so consumed just snapping Eva and focusing on her face, because they were not able to capture the true beauty of her handbag. Combine that with a beautiful, large-scale python skin and and some cute top handles, and Prada’s got a great satchel on their hands that will likely sell very well for them. Now if only they’d get away from that habit of sticking random stuff to their bags that has grown so tiresome. Consistent with the softer color palette of much of MJ’s collection, we saw a lot of champagnes, light and medium blues, creams, and whites in the accessories collection. Many of the bags were made of multicolored lattice leather, sometimes in what looked to be several different textures – I definitely spy some python, at the very least.
